December 20, 2020 at 6:29 pmDear Rose, Denham and Janine. I am so very, very sorry at the passing of your gorgeous mum. Auntie Carmen as I have known her for 51 of my 53 years. I feel like I spent as much time in your house growing up as I did in mine. Your mum was the most lovely, kind, calm, welcoming and patient woman. I always felt welcome and included. Her smile was so incredibly sweet. All my love and hugs to you. Jo xxx

December 23, 2020 at 12:17 pmDear Denham, Rozanne, Janine, Stuart, Marc, Luke Audrey and all your family. We have such fond memories of Carmen and attending today re-told stories in a touching way. We loved all the non-eulogies – she would have been very proud of you all, and the way Luke supported Audrey’s telling of her grandmothers delights – speaks so loudly of the love running through the generations of your wonderful family. Memories of school holidays, driveway cricket, billy carting and catching yabbies in Vermont come back to me with happiness. Your mum was there in the background, feeding us, caring for us and keeping us safe and warm just like Janine’s poncho. Of course, hearing Denham speak of Herb’s ‘best place in the world’ reminded us of his enthusiasm for life. You have been blessed with such beautiful parents so to know that Carmen is at peace with Herb is reassuring. We are comforted that your grief at losing such a beautiful mother can rest in such beautiful memories of her life so well lived. Love David

December 23, 2020 at 12:26 pmThank you for sharing this very beautiful service with us today. It was particularly lovely to hear the many stories of Carmen and mum and Oma from Sri Lanka days to Vermont to Inverloch and heaven! How your beloved Carmen was such an integral, gentle and loving force in the thread of your families weave. We feel immensely grateful to be part of this loving family and wider weave… and to be reminded that whatever is happening, and that wherever we are … it could just be the ‘best place in the world.’
