January 15, 2022 at 7:53 amI played over 100 Games of footy for Tarwin and an an important part of my pre-game ritual was to be told-off by Rusty for doing something wrong in the Trainers room – putting the oil in the wrong place, using the wrong tape, loitering etc. Rusty took great delight in the fact that I rubbed my own calves with oil before every game, the novelty never wore off for him! The twinkle in his eye during all these interactions is something I can still picture. Rusty genuinely made me feel a part of a Football Club and a community and I thank him for that. Last year we caught up with our energetic sibling pups for a “training session” – the unknown father (Kelpie?) definitely introduced some juice into the Labrador breeding program. Rusty enjoyed both pups harassing the birds on the oval and we had a good laugh but I’m not sure any training was done.
Best wishes to the Ellen Family
Thanks for making me laugh Rusty
