Very sorry for your loss Caroline. As a friend of Allan’s I had some contact with Bruce from time to time. He always told it the way he saw it and I admired him for that. All the best to you and your family at this sad time.

When we think of Bruce we remember great times and having fun. When we came to Phillip Island, Bruce & Caroline were our first [and remained best] friends. They made our time in Newhaven so much fun.
Who could forget burning out the stump in our back yard using building site offcuts supplied by Bruce, or learning to sail in the Corsair, or the “Handle Me Gently” cup, or nights at the Yacht Club, or gar fishing on Woolamai, or coming home from school to find Bruce woodturning in our wash house? It goes on and on.
We are so sorry to lose Bruce in such a way and send our love to Caroline and family. Such a loss!

    Dear Caroline, Darren and Chris,

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear from a friend today, that Bruce passed away last month. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Bruce always had a place in my heart. He made me laugh, he made me feel welcome, I can still hear him calling me “have-a-chat”. A beautiful human, certainly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him xx
