Every time I spoke to Joe, nothing was too much trouble, always with a smile on his face, and time for a talk, even though his business may have been short of time. Always happy to help, and happy to give advice when sought.
And I never stopped being fascinated with the type of flying performed when the “Super Plane” was near, completing spraying or fertiliser runs.
      Fly high Joe.
      Sympathy to Chris and family.

Over the last 12 years or so I have been bringing year 9s from Mirboo North SC out to Superplanes base. Joe has been an engaging presenter and we shared many laughs with the kids as he discussed life as a pilot. I was shocked to hear of his passing, made all the more raw as we had our last group of kids out there the previous Friday- but these kids were lucky to get the chance to meet him – a warm and generous man. We talked about coming down to visit me at the river, something that I would have loved to have happened. Rest in peace Joe.
