It is with great sadness that Collingwood Harriers Athletic Club pays tribute to our Life Member, John Watkins. John was a fine athlete, representing the Club with distinction over many years. His Club Record in the 110m Hurdles, set 50 fifty years, ago still stands today.
John was a friend to many and was always welcome at Club functions when able to make the trip from the ‘beach’.
    Farewell Champ!

Thanks Steve, what a wonderful message. Very touched that many of the Harriers joined the stream to say goodbye today. He was very proud of his 110m record!

I am shocked to learn this news. I was at both Melbourne and LaTrobe Universities with John and we re- connected when he came to Hamilton High School. My sincerest condolences to Liz, Peter and Elyse.
