As a nearby neighbour, we often admired her magnificent roses & were always very much in awe of her energy, out there mowing the lawn even up until recent years. She was always ready for a chat & we loved her warmth and generosity. Condolences to Maria & family, we will miss Connie. Brigette & Paul xx

But more than anything, she accepted me for who I was, daughter of poor dairy farmers. She cared for me without judgment, and during those precarious teenage years, scooped me up and turned me into a senorita! Connie encouraged me look my best, believe in myself, and always found a way to lift me up. Her love, laughter, cheeky wit and spirit will stay with me forever.
