My dear Uncle Danny, can’t believe you’re gone, thought you would be around forever. There are no words to explain how much you will be missed by everyone. I will treasure the memories as a kid growing up with you dressing up as Santa at Christmas time for Allan, Stephen, David and I. The fun camping at Cape Paterson every year and our special holiday to Croatia, just to mention a few. You will be sadly missed but grateful that your life was so well lived. Condolences to Allan and Stephen xx Karen Keenan

Danny Carr was without doubt, one of our very finest citizens The town of Wonthaggi exists because of the State Coal Mine and the proud history of the mine and the town lives on in large measure, because of Danny. The sole remaining State Coal Mine is still in existence primarily due to the efforts of Danny and his friends and is now the major tourist attraction of the town and district. His expertise as an engineer is legendary and with steel, there was nothing he could not do. For decades he kept the wheels of industry turning throughout our local region and beyond. This included rebuilding machinery many considered beyond repair. His briquette factory established decades ago continues to be a major supplier of briquettes statewide and beyond. Danny was also closely involved in many local organisations throughout his lifetime. Danny was widely respected and much loved. His passing represents a great loss to our community and he will be greatly missed. Paula and I send our condolences to his family

An kind and honorable gentleman with many and varied skills. Assisted me in my first job in the Miners’ Dental Clinic many years ago, and was a lifesaver on many occasions with breakdowns both in the dental practice and in later years on the farm. His engineering skills were legendary and a lovely man.
Deepest sympathy to the Carr family.
