October 13, 2025 at 9:33 pmEwan was my supervisor at Monterey Technical School, Frankston North, in 1984, while I was a trainee teacher doing my DipEd. I was not just new to the country as a migrant, I was also utterly unfamiliar with the Australian education system. To make it worse, I had given up a very senior position in industry, in migrating to Australia. Ewan was most sympathetic and considerate, he ignored my shortcomings, and concentrated on my strengths. Were it not for his patient guidance, support, and constant encouragement, I would never qualified as a teacher. I have had a very satisfying career for over 40 years now, in secondary schools, and in TAFE. I have taught Maths, Science, Business Management, Accounting and Indonesian over the course of this long career. I am still teaching part-time in TAFE. Thank you Ewan, for all what you did for me. Your efforts in 1984 have gone a very long way towards providing me, and my family, a wonderful life in Australia. All of us owe a lot to you. You will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Ewan.
