Requiem Mass for the Repose of the Soul of Mr. Gimi Stoppa
will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Thompson Ave, Cowes on
WEDNESDAY (Jan. 14, 2026) commencing at 11:00am.
At the conclusion of Mass the funeral will leave for the Phillip Island Cemetery.

Gimi Stoppa passed away peacefully at Melaleuca Lodge Aged Care
Aged 82
Beloved brother of Margaret and Hugh and brother-in-law of Marilyn.
Son of Peg and Bert Stoppa (both dec.).
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Melaleuca Lodge for their love and care over the last few years.

January 4, 2026 at 2:37 pmWhat a wonderful man was Gimi, we first met at Cowes market when he used to sell his proteas from his farm, then he taught religious instruction to my son at Cowes Primary, then social events at the Catholic Church hall, and chats on his daily walks past the shops in Thompson Avenue, Cowes, then in the latter years at Melaluca, spoke to him outside the hub a week before he died, R.I.P Gimi, lovely man, sadly missed. Condolences to the family.
